About Elizabeth Bauer
Elizabeth is a native New Yorker, who attended Bates College and New York University. Growing up Elizabeth spent summers assisting at an established design firm in Nantucket, MA, where she learned to develop her own eye for unique furniture, art and home décor. After college, Elizabeth went to work for Vogue and Oprah's Home Magazine before returning to pursue a career in the interior design industry.
Elizabeth's personal style is best described as modern in a traditional silhouette. She often tries to incorporate pattern on pattern, color and texture and she loves home accessories in glass or Lucite. Similarly, when decorating for a client, she likes to mix and match pieces from different periods, and also stresses the importance of knowing how to mix price points. One of Elizabeth's design philosophies is to compliment everyday pieces with high end accessories. Elizabeth enjoys going to local flea markets to scout out great finds for her clients and now for her store, Elizabeth Bauer Design.
Elizabeth's clients include acclaimed table top designer Kim Seybert and Publisher of InStyle magazine Connie Anne Phillips among other distinguished New Yorkers. Elizabeth and Elizabeth Bauer Design have been featured in House Beautiful, People Style Watch, Life & Style, The New York Post, New York Magazine, The Nest, ApartmentTherapy.com, Fashion Week Daily and Style.com.
